Obituary for Julius Alvin Carroll

Julius Alvin Carroll, 82, of Greenwood Drive Danville, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 after a decline in health for the past year.

Mr. Carroll was born in Oakway, SC, on July 4, 1935 a son of late Sam Alvin Carroll and Sleetie Sanford Carroll Cobb. He was the oldest of nine siblings.

Mr. Carroll worked as a truck driver for Epps Trucking and at Loftis Tire Company. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and never met a stranger. Mr. Carroll was a member of Tree of Life Ministries.

He was married to April Worley Blalock Carroll, who survives.

Survivors also include a son, Keith Alan Carroll, Ringgold; three stepchildren, Randy Blalock, Katherine Booth and Pamela Lewis; a sister, Virginia Payne of Woolwine; two grandchildren, James Alan Carroll and Emily Dawn Carroll; eight step-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren.

An infant daughter, Pamela Frances Carroll, and a stepson, Michael Blalock, predeceased him.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM from the graveside at Danville Memorial Gardens conducted by Pastor Eric Curtis. The family will receive friends at the residence.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Blairs Fire & Rescue, Danville Life Saving Crew or Ringgold Fire and Rescue.

Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel is serving the Carroll family.
