Over Half a Century of Compassion
In 1950, with $10 in their pocket and a desire to serve the families of this area, Cecil and Frances Sandifer bought an old Victorian home in downtown Westminster and opened Sandifer Funeral Home. There, in the warmth of that home, the Sandifers raised a family, grew a business, and cared for a community.
Today, Sandifer Funeral Home remains a fixture in the community. From our single location in Westminster, we have served three generations of area families, providing everything from traditional funeral services, pre-need planning and after-care guidance to our on-site crematory and our own privately-owned cemetery.
A Warm Environment When You Need it Most
As our services continue to expand, so too, do our facilities. Built in 1875, the original house has grown to more than 18,000 square feet and remains the only Sandifer Funeral Home in the county. As the home has grown, the original warmth and charm have been carefully preserved.
Chapel
Larger services are held in the 200-seat main chapel complete with video and audio capabilities. Light and airy, the chapel is designed to offer comfort even as it celebrates life.
Private Consultation Room
Out of respect for the families we serve, Sandifer Funeral Home has designed private consultation rooms where families can meet to discuss their wishes, evaluate their options, plan details, and select appropriate memorial objects such as memory books, retrospective videos, grave side markers and more.
Parlor Room
Today, Sandifer Funeral Home offers five parlors for private visitation and intimate family gatherings; each room is detailed with personal and thoughtful touches such as furniture from the original home, wainscoting, fireplaces and more.
