Obituary for Alma Kelley Cox

Westminster – Alma Kelley Cox, 96, widow of the late J.L. Cox, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018 at Lila Doyle.

Ms. Cox was a lifelong resident of Oconee County and resided in the Oak Grove Community, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Sally Broom Kelley. Ms. Cox was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church

Survivors include her daughters, Ruth Jean Pitts and husband Wallace, Sallie Ellen Smith; daughter in law, Kay Cox; grandchildren, Kathy Pitts Lee, Michael Pitts, Kevin Smith, John Michael Cox, Jody S Hughes and Chris Cox; 9 great grandchildren, Rhett Cox, Austin Pitts, Ethan Pitts, Aimee Pitts, Joseph Lee, Jenny Lee, Hunter Lee, Pruitt Hughes, and Hope Hughes and 4 great great grandchildren, Wesley Pitts, Warren Pitts, Brodie Lee, and Harper Lee; sisters, Mary Kelley Beaver and Doris Kelley Morton.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, John “Johnny” Cox and son in-law, Mike Smith; brothers, Waller “ Bunky ” Kelley, Jake Kelley; sisters, Sophia Kelley and Francis Kelley Koon.

Private graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family is at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory may be made to GHS Lila Doyle, Attn: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC 29672.
