Obituary for Clark Treiber Reed


Clark Treiber Reed, 78, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 7, 2018.

Mr. Reed is survived by his loving wife Lynn Ivester Reed of Anderson; daughters Tracey (Ron) Colling and Abigail Reed; son Seth (Brittany) Reed; brother Craig (Jill) Reed; sister Rebecca (Robert) Hill; Grandchildren Spencer, Dawson, Mackenzie, Raegan, Winter, Riverlynn and Garrett. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Margaret Reed, and sister, Virginia Goodman.

Born August 25, 1940 in Malone, NY, Clark grew up in Canton, Ohio and Detroit, Michigan; Graduated from Malone College in Canton, Ohio with a degree in education. Clark taught social studies and economics and coached football for several years, but his lifelong passion was cars and especially old cars, 1940 Ford’s in particular. He was a member of the Dearborn V8 Club and has many friends and acquaintances across the country through the “old car world”. He was also an expert pocket watch collector, model train collector, and stamp collector. He was an economist, historian, Bible teacher, poet and songwriter, and conservative blogger. He was a member of Christ Reformed ARP Church in Anderson.

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm, Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Ramsey Creek Preserve in Westminster, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Clark’s memory to the General Synod, Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 918 S. Pleasantburg Drive, Ste # 127, Greenville, SC, 29607-2424.
