HELEN INEZ SWAFFORD SMITH

Westminster- Helen Inez Swafford Smith, 79, widow of the late Gus Ray Smith, passed away, March 17, 2019, at her residence.

A native of Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Swafford and Pearl Blackwell Swafford. Helen worked in the textile industry and was a member of Chauga Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons, Ricky Smith (Judy) and Donnie Smith (Peggy) of Westminster; daughters, Wanda Stephens (David) of Westminster and Diane Richardson of Walhalla; sister, Lucille McJunkins of Walhalla; thirteen grandchildren and thirty-four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Earbie Swafford and Ivan Swafford; sister, Evelyn Woodall; and a great-grandson, Gabriel Charles Smith.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Chauga Baptist Church with burial to follow at Chauga Baptist Church Cemetery.
