Anderson- James Edward Gilliam, Jr., 68, husband of Dedra Harper Gilliam, 1201 Evergreen Street, passed away December 21, 2018, at An Med Health.

Born in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late James Edward Gilliam, Sr. Mr. Gilliam was a security officer at Wal-Mart, he was a Superintendent at Unity Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church. James was a Veteran with the United States Navy.

Mr. Gilliam is survived by his wife Dedra H. Gilliam; son, Jamey Christopher Gilliam of Anderson, SC; daugther, Rebecca Helena Gilliam of Anderson, SC; brothers, Mike Gilliam of Anderson, SC, Ronnie Gilliam of Liberty, SC, Edward Dunn of Liberty, SC, Donnie Ray Gilliam of Liberty, SC; sister, Deborah Green of Liberty, SC; special sister-n-laws, Jeanne Henslee, Beverly Harper, and Kathy Johnson; and special granddaughters, Caitlyn and Aryana Gilliam.

In addition to his father he is preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Gilliam; and a very special grandmother, Lola Fuller.

A funeral service will be held at 3 pm, Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at Rider Mountain Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church with burial to follow. The family will receive friends following the funeral service.

The family is at the residence. In Lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Gilliam’s memory may be made in C/O Sandifer Funeral Home, PO Box 69, Westminster, SC 29693.
