SARAH CRENSHAW ALLEN
March 28, 1929 ~ November 9, 2018

On Friday, November 9, 2018, Sarah C. Allen, 89, of Surfside Beach, South Carolina died
peacefully at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Lucama, North Carolina.

Mrs. Allen was born March 28, 1929 in Oconee County, South Carolina to William O. and Sallie
Thrasher Crenshaw. She was married on February 24, 1950 to Olen Legustus Allen. The
couple had four children.

After her husband was obliged to take a disability retirement from civil engineering, Mrs. Allen
joined the workforce as a customer service representative at South Carolina National Bank. For
the next 22 years, she was a loyal employee, who was known by many to go the extra mile in
assisting her customers.

A charter member of Surfside Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Allen enjoyed fellowshipping with her
brothers and sisters in Christ, and singing in the church choir. And for a number of years she
was a faithful volunteer with Mobile Meals of the South Strand. Other favorite activities included
reading, spending time with family, playing various types of games and tinkering in her yard.

Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Larry G. Allen, five
brothers and six sisters. Surviving are her daughter, Lynda Greub of Surfside Beach, daughter
and son-in-law, Sally and Randy Jenkins of Lucama, North Carolina, and daughter, Donna Clark
of Pawleys Island, South Carolina. She was blessed to have fifteen grandchildren and seven
great grandchildren who still and always will “Love her the most”.

Funeral services will be Sunday, November 18, at 3:00 p.m. at Sandifer Funeral Home, 512
East Main Street, Westminster, South Carolina, with son-in-law, Reverend Randy Jenkins
officiating. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation for family and friends will be at the funeral home from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Interment will be in Oconee Memorial Park in Seneca, South Carolina, with Sandifer Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

A memorial service will be held the following week on Sunday, November 25, at 4:00 p.m. at
Surfside Presbyterian Church, in Surfside Beach. Visitation for family and friends will be
from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the church.
