Obituary for Trapper Scott Freeman

TRAPPER FREEMAN

Westminster- Trapper Scott Freeman, age 38, husband of Amber Long Freeman, of Westminster passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019.

Trapper was the son of the late Michael Andrew Freeman and Catherine Holbrooks Whiten. Trapper was a fiercely dedicated and devoted husband, father, son, brother, coach, mentor, friend to many, and a pillar in the Westminster Community. Trapper was well known at the Westminster Recreation Department as a coach of football, baseball, basketball and tee ball, as well as the founder of the Carolina Bomb Squad travel baseball team; during Trapper’s coaching career he led many athletes to State Championships. He was an employee of Greenfield Industries, member of the Oconee Iron, a strong supporter and avid Clemson Tiger fan, an outdoors enthusiast, and attended Foothills Community Church.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Amber Long Freeman, include sons, Jaxton Freeman, Trent Freeman, Mekhi Freeman and daughter, Krislynn Freeman all of the home; mother, Catherine Holbrooks Whiten of Liberty; brothers, Kevin (Mark) Freeman, Sam (Greta) Freeman, Adam (Karly) Freeman; grandparents, Mary Holbrooks of Westminster and Charles Holbrooks of Westminster; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins that he loved dearly.

Trapper is preceded in death by his father, Michael Freeman and his grandparents, Eugene T. and Mildred “Mickey” Freeman.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 5:00 pm, Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Foothills Church, with burial to follow at First Baptist Church Cemetery in Westminster. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm, Monday, August 19, 2019 at Sandifer Funeral Home.
