Obituary for Teresa (Terry) Elizabeth Winand

Seneca, SC - Teresa (Terry) Elizabeth Winand, 84, former resident of Parksville & Livingston Manor, NY, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2018 following a brief battle with cancer.

Terry was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 6, 1933. She graduated in 1951 from West Philadelphia Catholic Girls High School. She worked as a waitress at the Triangle Diner in Liberty for many years, later working the dining room at Kutchers Country Club.

By even her own admission, she was a character! She enjoyed fishing, bird watching, gardening, Saturday yard sales with her best friend and making people laugh. More than anything, she loved to dance. She will be greatly missed but fondly remembered for her fun loving zest for life and her generous spirit.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Harry F. Winand, her great-granddaughter, Skylar Marie Jones, and her dear friend and dancing partner, Richard Hyzer, Sr.

She is survived by son, Harry B. Winand (Shirley) of NY, daughter, Denise Jones (Steven) of SC, and grandchildren, Kyle Jones (Ashley) of TN, Matthew Jones (Summer), of WA, Harry D. Winand of NY, and Tabitha Winand of NY.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of family.

Memorials in Terry’s memory may be made to the Cottingham Hospice House/Hospice of the Foothills, Attn: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC 29672 or Love Not Lost online at or at 1551 Dunwoody Village Pkwy. #88872, Dunwoody, GA 30338. Condolences may be expressed online by visiting
